Sika Thailand has been implementing the coral planting project since 2016 as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative focused on marine environmental conservation. The project utilizes leftover cement-based materials that still hold value, repurposing them for maximum benefit instead of disposing of them in landfills.
Sika's Commitment to the Environment: Creating Long-Term Value for the Ocean
Sika places great importance on the coastal and marine environment, particularly in conserving water resources and protecting the climate. Through its coral planting project, the company is dedicated to restoring coral reefs and revitalizing the marine ecosystem to its natural balance.
This initiative not only helps increase coral reef coverage and provide habitats for marine life, but also promotes responsible resource use. Concrete blocks left over from factory testing, which still meet quality standards, are repurposed for this project instead of being discarded as industrial waste.
Sika’s commitment to integrating environmental conservation with sustainable resource management reflects its strong sense of corporate and environmental responsibility. The initiative also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that the company actively supports.
