Sika Thailand sponsors 2.5 million baht to Operation Smile Thailand supporting the weekly medical mission at Maesot, Tak.
Operation Smile Thailand is a non-profit-medical charity set up in 1997, as a part of Operation Smile International dedicated to providing free treatment to children and adults suffering from cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities.
Sika Thailand has been supported Operation Smile Thailand to conduct the weekly medical mission in different location since 2014. This year (2019), we sponsor Operation Smile Thailand again to heal children’s smiles and bring them new lives and a new future with a THB 2,500,000 for weekly medical mission in Maesot, Tak which is held on 3-8 November 2019.
Apart the financial support, Sika Thailand also provides 150 pillow-blankets to all screened patients on the screening day. 30 employees from Sika Thailand participate in the mission doing non- medical work in many key roles such as filling out all patients’ information, managing traffic from one station to another station and photo shooting on the screening day, doing activities (painting and playing with toys) and entertaining with patients before and after surgery on the operation day.
The result from this weekly medical mission is 157 patients are screened and 113 patients receives surgery/ treatment with 136 procedures. They were 57 males and 56 females. We see happy smiles and a chance for a brighter future in those children. The atmosphere during the days is full of smiles, new smiles of children and delighted smiles from their families. It is such a great opportunity and meaningful experience for Sika Thailand employees to be a part of the great mission.
