Sikament® F-6

High Range Water-Reducing Concrete Admixture

A highly effective water-reducing agent and
superplasticizer for promoting accelerated early and ultimate strength development.

Sikament® F6 provides the following properties :
As a Superplasticizer :
Substantial improvement in workability without
increased water or the risk of segregation.
Normal set without retardation, even when
overdosed. Improved density and surface finish. As a Water Reducer :
20- 30% water reduction. 40% increase in 28 day strengths. High strengths after 8 hours. Increased frost-resistance and watertightness. As retempering of Concrete :
Improve workability (slump) of concrete when added into mixing truck onsite by 1-5 litre/one truck and
mixing time along 2-3 minutes.

Usage

Sikament® F6 as a superplasticizer for flow
concrete in :
  • Floor slabs and foundations
  • Walls, columns and slender components packed
    reinforcement
  • Beams and ceilings
Sikament® F6 as a substantial water reducer for the manufacture of :
  • Pre-cast concrete elements
  • Bridges and cantilever structures
  • Pre-stressed concrete
  • Area of concrete where formwork must be removed quickly or early loading applied

Application Information

Compatibility

Sikament® F-6 is compatible with all types of Portland Cement, including S.R.C. type and Hydraulic Cement.

Dispensing

Sikament® F6 can be added separately to the freshly mixed concrete or
directly to the mixing water prior to its addition to the aggregates. When
added separately to the freshly mixed concrete, further mixing should
take place for at least one minute per cubic meter.

Restrictions

Concrete shall be designed in accordance with ACI 211.1-89 standard
recommended practice for selecting proportions for concrete and shall
contain a superplasticizer which shall be Sikament® F6 as manufactured by Sika. It shall be used in strict accordance with the manufacturer's
recommendations.
Consumption

Recommended Dosage

0.8 - 2.0% by weight of cement. Exact dosage rates are dependent on the type of effect sought, quality of cement and aggregates, water/cement
ratio and ambient temperature.Therefore, in many cases it is advisable to carry out trial mixes.
