Sikament® RB 1005

Superplasticising admixture for producing rheoplastic concrete

Sikament® RB 1005 is a ready to use, liquid admixture designed to superplasticising admixture for produce high slump concrete but low water/cement ratio. 
Sikament® RB 1005 is a chloride free and is specially formulated to impart rheoplastic qualities to concrete. Rheoplastic concrete is typically fluid concrete with a slump value of ≥200 mm that flows easily but at the same time is free from segregation.

Application Information

Compatibility

Sikament® RB 1005 may be combined with many other Sika products. Trials must always be carried out before combining products in specific mixes. Contact Sika Technical Services for additional information and any specific combinations. 
Sikament® RB 1005 is compatible with all types of Portland Cement, including SRC type and Hydraulic Cement.

Dispensing

The addition of Sikament® RB 1005 into a dry mix is not recommended. Sikament® RB 1005 can be dosed either at the batching plant or on-site. Introduce Sikament® RB 1005 at the specified dosage directly into the mixer through a dispenser along with mixing water, when the concrete is thoroughly wetted (i.e. after adding at least 75% of the mixing water) and mix for at least 2 minutes. For on-site dosing, mix for at least 2 minutes after the addition. 
Consumption

Recommended dosage

Dosage of Sikament® RB 1005 depends upon the mix design, the ambient conditions and the degree of water reduction and workability required. Typical dosage used is 0.8 – 2.5 litres per 100 kg of cementitious materials. Other dosages may also be used depending on the mix design and ambient conditions. Therefore, in many cases it is advisable to carry out trial mixes.
