WATER-REDUCING AND SET-EXTENDING CONCRETE ADMIXTURE

Usage

Sika® Plastiment® R TH is used where high quality concrete is required in difficult conditions, such as:
  • Hot ambient climates
  • Extended travelling time to placement location
  • Ready-mix concrete
  • Extended finishing time is required

Shelf life

12 months from the date of production if stored properly in undamaged,
original, sealed packaging.

Storage conditions

Store properly in original, unopened and undamaged sealed packaging in
dry conditions at temperatures between +10 °C and +35 °C.

Application Information

Compatibility

Sika® Plastiment® R TH is compatible with all types of Portland cement including Sulphate Resistant Cement (SRC) and Hydraulic Cement.

DISPENSING

Sika® Plastiment® R TH should be dispensed directly into the mixing water prior to the addition of other concrete components such as coarse aggregates, sand and cement. Accurate dispensing equipment is readily available from Sika.

 
Consumption

Recommended dosage

Sika® Plastiment® R TH is dosed at 200–500 cc per 100 kg of cement. Actual dosage rate required will depend on:

  • Required effect (slump retention & setting time)
  • Quality of cement and aggregates
  • Water : Cement ratio
  • Ambient and concrete temperatures

In all cases, it is advisable to carry out trial mixes to establish the required dosage. For more specific requirements, please contact our Technical Service Department.
