High Range Water-Reducing Concrete Admixture

Sika® ViscoCrete®-758 TH is a highly effective water reducing agent and superplasticizer based on polycarboxylate ether (PCE) technology for promoting accelerated hardening, free flowing concrete, and good slump retention.

Sika® ViscoCrete®-758 TH provides the following properties: ▪ Substantial improvement in workability without increased water and the risk of segregation; ▪ High-range water reduction, resulting in high density, high compressive strength, and reduced permeability; ▪ Good slump retention and set retardation, allowing the longer period of concrete placing and compaction; ▪ Enhanced surface finish of concrete; ▪ Up to 35% water reduction; ▪ Increased 28-day compressive strength; ▪ Increased watertightness of concrete.

Usage

Sika® ViscoCrete®-758 TH is a superplasticizer for flowing concrete in:
  • Floor slabs;
  • Foundations;
  • Slender components with packed reinforcement;
  • Walls and columns;
  • Beams and ceilings.
Sika® ViscoCrete®-758 TH is a water-reducer for manufacture of:
  • Pre-cast concrete elements;
  • Bridges and cantilever structures;
  • Pre-stressed concrete;
  • Area of concrete where formwork must be removed quickly or early loading applied

Shelf life

12 months from the date of production if it is stored properly in undamaged, original, sealed packaging

Storage conditions

Stored at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C. Protect from frost, direct sunlight, and contamination.

Note: When delivered in bulk, the tanks and equipment used must be free from contaminants

Application Information

Dispensing

Sika® ViscoCrete®-758 TH can be added separately to the freshly mixed concrete or directly to the mixing water prior to its addition to the aggregates. When added separately to the freshly mixed concrete, further mixing should take place for at least one minute per cubic meter.
Consumption

Recommended dosage

Typical dosage rates of Sika® ViscoCrete®-758 TH are 600 - 3,000 cc per 100 kg of cement by weight. Exact dosage rates are dependent on the type of effect sought, quality of cement and aggregates, water-to-cementitious ratio, and ambient temperature. Therefore, in many cases, it is advisable to carry out trial mixes. Sika® ViscoCrete®-758 TH is compatible with all types of Portland Cement, including S.R.C type and Hydraulic Cement.
