High performance mid-range concrete water reducer

  • SikaPlast R 8399 is a formulated liquid admixture tailored for making superior and durable concrete, with special additives incorporated in the formulation to facilitate placing and finishing.
  • SikaPlast R 8399 is compatible with all cements meeting recognised international standards.

  • Good water reduction - Helps in achieving better durability. Improves compressive, flexural and bond strengths.
  • Good workability - Easier pumpability & placement.
  • Good cohesion - Reduces segregation.
  • Reduced permeability – Improves watertightness of hardened concrete at w/c < 0.55
  • SikaPlast R 8399 admixture is recommended for use in all concrete where slump retention, extended setting time characteristics, and superior workability.
  • SikaPlast R 8399 admixture is particularly useful in providing mid-range slumps in the area of 120-175 mm. Field data has consistently shown improved workability versus conventional water- reducing and retarding admixtures.

Usage

  • Generally, various types of concrete where set retardation and superior performance are required.
  • Improving quality of conventionally placed concrete and pumped concrete.
  • Improving plain, reinforced, precast, prestressed, light weight or standard weight concrete.

Application Information

Dispensing

SikaPlast R 8399 an be added into the mixing water, or can be added to the wet concrete after the mixing water has been added. The addition of SikaPlast R 8399 to a dry concrete mix is not recommended. A separate dispenser and feed line must be used.
Consumption

Recommended dosage

SikaPlast R 8399 is recommended for use at a dosage rate of 200-500ml per 100 kg binder. The optimum dosage of SikaPlast R 8399 is dependant on various factors including materials and conditions that would be experienced at site. Variations in the job conditions and concrete making materials employed may require dosage rates outside the recommended range.
