Ready to use dry shotcrete mix

Usage

As applied by dry shotcrete machine type (e.g. rotor) suitable for the following conditions.
  • Dewatering work in underground constructions.
  • Preliminary support in difficult condition (support with water seepage, soft ground).
  • Substitute of dry mix produced by batching in the case of a small volume of shotcrete is required to be applied.

Consumption

The rate of coverage depends on the surface texture of the substrate, the area to be sprayed (overhead or vertical) and the thickness of the applied layer. As a general rules, allow 30 to 35 kg/m2 per 10 mm applied thickness.
Application steps

EQUIPMENT

Rotor shotcrete machine with either 50 or 60 mm conveying rubber hoses. Ideal output max 5 m3/h

  • Accelerator Liquid dosing unit (in case of additional accelerator addition)
  • Water booster pump (min 12 lt/min – min 5 bars)
  • Compressor (min 7 bars and 12 m3/min air supply for maximal 40 meter conveying distance while considering max 5 m3/h)

APPLICATION

In the case that additional accelerator is required, only liquid Alkali Free accelerator (e.g. Sigunit® L 53 MY or Sigunit® L 53 TH) can be added thanks to a liquid dosing unit.

Dry Process

Sigunit® L53 MY or Sigunit® L 53 TH is supplied from the liquid dosing unit to the mixing tube assembly by means of water under pressure (2-3 bars more than the dry mix conveying pressure).
The water and accelerator mixture is added through the mixing tube assembly being located 2,5 m behind the nozzle or at the nozzle directly.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Uncured mortar should be removed from tools with water. To clean the spraying equipment, please refer to equipment’s manufacturer recommendations.

Once cured, the mortar can only be removed mechanically.
