SikaTile®-940 Injectile Fix

ACRYLIC LIQUID FILLED THE HOLE UNDER THE TILES

SikaTile®-940 Injectile Fix acrylic liquid product designed for rebonding delaminated tiles for floor applications without the need to remove the tiles. It can also be used for rebonding render, such as mortars.

  • Debond floor tiles emit a hollow or drummy sound when tapped. This indicates bond failure between tile and substrate and can result in crumbling of grout and dislodging and breaking of tiles. Injectile Fix solves this problem.
  • Eliminates the costly and time-consuming need to re-tile debonded floor tiling installations.
  • Gives greater flexibility to the tiling installation, thus accommodating further building movement.
  • Suitable for use within hours of injection.

Usage

  • Rebonding of all tile types, including ceramic tiles, marble, slate, and natural stone.
  • Rebonding of tiles where previous cementitious tile adhesive or sand-cement installations have failed.
  • Suitable for rebonding onto smooth substrates, which are a common cause of cementitious tile adhesive failure, such as steel-troweled concrete surfaces.
  • Rebonding of render and mortar applications.
  • Primarily recommended for floor applications. For wall applications, users should review application limitations or consult Sika Technical Service before use.

Application steps

APPLICATION

  • Identify areas that are "drummy" by tapping the tiled surface with a screwdriver or similar object.
  • Mark off the area to be treated.
  • Inspect and seal leakage points before injection: Grout joints around the affected tiles should be properly repaired and sealed to prevent material from leaking outside the application area.
  • Drill holes into the grout joints, such as at the corners of the tiles
  • Inject SikaTile®-940 Injectile Fix into the tiled floors and observe for injected product coming out through drill holes - indicating completed coverage at the back of the tiles and between substrate and adhesive/ sand-cement screed.
  • Injection can be carried out manually, using a cartridge and cartridge gun, or with equipment like epoxy injection machines
  • Wipe off any excess liquid from the tile surfaces before it dries (adding some methylated spirits to the cleaning water can make cleaning easier)
  • Allow to dry before putting into service.
