At the Sika premises in Worms, Germany, bitumen foil laminated with K5-fleece was collected and previously disposed externally as bitumen waste. The possibility of recycling the fleece-laminated bitumen foil has turned out to be successful.
Recycling of K5-fleece-laminated bitumen foil
The Sika Automotive team in Worms, Germany, started a project to avoid waste and to recycle K5-fleece-laminated bitumen foil. The recycling option now contributes a rise of the recycling rate by 20% and savings in waste generation, alone in 2021 250 tons of waste were avoided by this recycling option.
