The Thai Industrial Standards (TIS)
Is a national standard system developed and supervised by the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI), an agency under the Ministry of Industry. Its function is to issue requirements for products across various industrial sectors.
Objectives of TIS Standards
- To control product quality to ensure safety for consumers.
- To define clear criteria for product properties, such as strength, durability, and service life.
- To serve as a guideline for manufacturers to consistently develop high-quality products.
- To increase confidence for consumers and customers in all sectors.
Certified TIS Standards
TIS 2703-2566 – Industrial Product Standard for Cement Adhesives used in installing ceramic floor and wall tiles, classified into general grade and high-performance grade, for both interior and exterior applications.
TIS 3056-2563 – Industrial Product Standard for Skim Coat Mortar, a ready-mixed mortar for thin surface coating to smoothen and prepare surfaces before painting.
TIS 733-2530 (TIS 733) – Industrial Product Standard for Chemical Admixtures for Concrete, classified into seven types based on their functions: water-reducing admixtures, set-retarding admixtures, set-accelerating admixtures, water-reducing and set-retarding admixtures, water-reducing and set-accelerating admixtures, high-range water-reducing admixtures, and high-range water-reducing and set-retarding admixtures.
